You're Not Stuck. You're Germinating.
What if you're not behind, you're just becoming MORE you?
There are seasons when your old identity stops fitting.
But nothing new has quite arrived to take its place.
You’re not clear. You’re not driven. You’re not producing.
You’re just.. here. Heavy, unsure, maybe a little afraid.
And in a world that measures worth in momentum, that stillness can feel like a kind of death.
old habits
We don’t often talk about how strange it is to stop recognizing yourself.
The roles you used to play don’t bring you the same meaning.
The habits you used to cling to feel brittle.
The goals you were once so sure about now seem impossibly far away, or worse, irrelevant.
It’s grief. It’s fear. It’s the quiet ache of shedding.
We are taught to define ourselves by action.
So when the doing stops, or shifts into something less legible, it’s natural to feel unmoored.
If I’m not producing, performing, perfecting.. who even am I?
die hard
Germination isn’t passive. It just looks that way from the outside.
Under the soil, everything is changing.
Cells soften and split. Roots explore invisible terrain.
A quiet decision is made to grow toward the unknown.
What seems like nothing is happening is actually a total re-patterning.
Maybe that’s what your spirit is doing right now.
Re-writing.
Not in the language of hustle or resolution, but in the deeper, slower tongue of integrity.
You are becoming aligned in ways that have nothing to do with optics.
You are learning to feel your way forward without a script.
Comments are open. If you’ve got something to say or want to share what stood out to you, I’d love to hear it.
the dark
There is wisdom in the dark
You don’t need a five-year plan
You don’t need a rebrand or a breakthrough.
You need breath.
You need rest.
You need to listen for what’s taking shape beneath the noise.
Germination is surrender
To timing.
To rhythm.
To truth.
And the truth is this:
The next version of you isn’t going to be shinier.
It’s going to be truer.
More honest.
More whole.
More rooted in the things that actually matter to you.
And you don’t have to invent her.
She is already inside of you.
the light
one day, you’ll look back on this foggy in-between time and see it for what it was
A season of becoming
Not because you finally figured it all out
But because you didn’t rush the mystery.
Because you stayed.
Because you softened.
Because you listened.
Because you let go.
You are not stuck.
You are not behind.
You are germinating.
And germinating is devotion
To the light.

Author’s note:
I’m really excited to let you know that I’ve started an additional Thursday newsletter called For People and Planet.
Each week I’ll be sharing stories about climate solutions, human creativity, and the small and big ways people are building a more balanced future with Earth. The idea is to move past the usual crisis headlines and focus on progress, innovation, and hope. I’d love for you to join me on this journey.
You can check it out and subscribe at https://www.forpeopleandpla.net
As always love your words... I have definitely been in some periods of germination lately. I find they will not be rushed too, but there is a mysterious beautiful alchemy to them too. X
